OGK Peregrine Mag Wheels
Made in Japan
The first time i used these was back in 1990. Only having seen mags in the movie RAD, i was immediatly smitten by its looks, just like with tuff wheels. The directional spokes look so cool. Their weight wasn't and issue back then, i could bunnyhop really high with these and the never break. fast forward to almost 20 years later. I installed a set of these and immediately noticed how heavy it felt on the bike. maybe its age catching up, but these dont feel so good to ride on anymore. They flex like hell, making many tricks kind of difficult, and handling unpredictable. If you leaned in the corners, the flex could cause the brake shoes to rub the rims. However, their smoothness is excellent, just as i remembered, suzue really did a good job with the hubs. Compared to tuff wheels, tuff wheels are definetly stiffer. However, for show, you will surely need it for your Redline RL20 or early Haro Masters. Peregrine master mags are the same actually as these, they were made by OGK after all. |
